In 1997 in Washington, D.C., Dr. and Mrs. Moon established the Martial Arts Federation for World Peace for the purpose of building world peace by encouraging all martial artists to work together. It has tried to transcend all differences that exist between people who practice martial arts. The Federation respects all martial arts and is dedicated to bringing about unity and cooperation for a bigger purpose, namely world peace.

In order to achieve world peace, the Federation emphasizes the teaching of Unification thought and the strengthening of the spirit of martial artists through education. In this respect Tong-Il Moo-Do will actively support the Martial Arts Federation for World Peace and stand in the forefront of providing spiritual education for martial artists through Tong-Il Moo-Do Philosophies.
