The workshop was planned start on 7th October and end on 11 th October. On Tuesday 7th Master Njiru arrived from Nairobi for the workshop. He gave me guidelines on how the training workshop was to take place and started to implement them.

The programme was as follows;

Tuesday 7th to Saturday 11th ? 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. training at the club with the seniors.

Tuesday 7th to Friday 10th ? 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. training for all the groups of seniors and juniors

Friday was a National holiday so we had a special training at the club from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 4:00 pm ? 7:00 pm.

On Saturday, which was the final day, we had a special training at the beach from 9.30a.m. - 12.30 p.m. for the grading preparation

Saturday 11th ? 2:30 p.m. Grading.

7th Tue We proceeded into the training hall and the workshop was officially opened and started. We had 25 old students and 7 new students so in total we had 32 participants. The students were trained for the day on the basics and Tong Il Moo Do Self-defense techniques.

8th Wed Master Njiru and I, went to visit a prominent businessman; Mr. Talal of Tanjal Investments who had pledged to support the club with training equipments. Talked to him in length about Tong Il Moo Do training and the teachings of character education. We made an appointment with him to visit the club in the evening and present the training equipments to the practitioners.

We later on went to Baraka FM (A famous Radio Station in Coast province) and met a sports news reporter; Mr. Josphat Kioko who has been in the limelight of making TIMD known in Coast Province. We shared a lot with him and Master Njiru and even booked me for an interview (Tuesday 14th October) on Master Njiru's behalf to give him a recap of the training workshop. The news reporter announced the training workshop on the same day and during the week by the Reporter of Baraka Fm.

We later on departed to the club and Master Njiru started the session with a lecture on Tong Il Moo Do philosophy. Basic continued as training as we prepared to receive our guest Mr.Talal.

He arrived at the club at 6:00 pm accompanied by his wife. They were warmly welcomed and joyfully received by all of us. We did a short demonstration after which the guests presented the training equipments to the participants. The equipments consisted of eight regular size target pads and two big size target pads.

The students were really grateful for the training gear as we immediately gave instructions on how to use them.

9th Thursday The training was mainly on the basics, Forms and One-step sparring.

10th Fri We went to the club for the morning session and Master Njiru taught us a lot of basics on Circular motion and the circular forms. Then Tong Il Moo Do self-defense. We went for lunch break and resumed training at 4:00 p.m. We perfected the students basics, forms, one-step sparring and circular motion as the were preparing for the grading.

11thSat This was the day many were waiting for because it was serious from the 4 a.m. training till the grading day.

At 9.30 a.m, we assembled at the club. All students dressed in their Doboks we jogged to the beach, which is almost two Kilometers away from the club. We trained at the beach and it was very interesting because the environment was full of breeze from the Ocean and the training space was great.

We had a break for lunch and were to meet at the club for the grading. At 2:00 p.m. all had assembled at the club ready for the grading the audience was also packed with parents and friends. This was partly due to the media influence; - the Radio station which announced the event every day.

The Chief Inspector Katole of Flying Squad who represented the club Patron Chief Inspector Karisa oversaw the grading official opening or launch. C.I. Katole is a former high level Tae Kwon Do Practitioner and has been very supportive to the Tong Il Moo Do Club activities.

The grading consisted of three categories; - juniors, middle age and adults. A total of 25 people participated in the grading. 7 of the participants were not yet ready for a promotion test.

Among the practitioners there were three ladies who have been very active in the training and several others have promised to begin training soon.

The grading was very successful and the highest belt awarded was Green Belt. Others were Yellow/Green and Yellow belts.

All the students were very happy for their results and determined to do better next time.
