Florida TONG-IL MOO-DO News

TONG-IL MOO-DO enter Florida in March 2004 under the leadership of Instructor Luis Carreno, the training sections are held twice a week for about 2 hours each class, where students get to know each of the techniques of TIMD including Kicking, punching, throws, ground fighting and TIMD philosophy. Recently one of the very first students SEUNG WOO HONG became a brown belt at the last TIMD workshop in Barrytown, NY at UTS and now serves as an Instructor's Assistance in Florida.

The Last National Tournament (May 30th) the Peace King Cup held at the UTS in Barrytown, NY, brought many competitors from all over USA, California Washington DC, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and many other States joined together as brothers in the Martial Arts to compete for a place to be classified into the world Peace King Cup to be held in October at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.

The State of Florida with only two Competitors became the Champions of USA, with the participation of Instructor LUIS CARRENO and SEUNG WOO HONG Florida won the tournament after a hard work and competition. Seung Woon Hong who is a TIMD brown belt, participated in Forms, Team forms and sparring and brought home two trophies and one medal, Second place third place and another Second Place.

Instructor Luis Carreno participated in sparring middle weight Division where he became champion bringing a first place to Florida, later the champion of the light weight, Middle and heavy were asked to dispute in sparring the title of Grand Champion that is normally given to the one that wins all the fights, LUIS CARRENO wining the next two matches by submission techniques, Choke and Arm bar in less that a minute each fight, had became the Grand Champion of USA and has received the honor to represent USA in the World Peace King Cup, this is a great Victory for Florida's practitioner of TIMD as well as a victory for Colombia where Luis Carreno originally came from.
