The 2nd Solomon Island TIMD Workshop was held from June 21st to July 2nd. 32 participants from 13 to 32 years old, including 5 women took part in it. The workshop was held in Tenaru School, the suburb of Honiara. The mats were provided by the kind Judo instructor, Mr. Andrew Kofelo.

All of us followed the schedule provided from TIMD HQ. Even though the schedule of the seminar was quite tough for the students (about total 9 hours of 4 trainings every day and most of the time there were no break during the trainings), most of them appreciated it because of well considered schedule

Here are some of my impressions about this Workshop.

One night, all of a sudden, the principal of the school came to the dojang to ask some students who were listening to the radio to turn the volume down. But 2 students showed the rude attitude which offended him. Later on after I found it out, and all of us repented for this. I went to the principal with 2 students to apologize and he accepted. To make up for this, we cleaned up the whole campus. We invited him to our demonstration, and he was deeply impressed. He emphasized the importance of our heart behind action. We all learned through this experience how important to relate to others with heart and respect.

Two young teenage girls with white belt have improved so much in their self- defense through the several demonstrations. Their strong spirit with loud shout really stimulated all of us.

Students have improved the skill of free sparring applying the techniques of one step sparring, and especially the multiple free sparring techniques.

I feel Oceania, especially Solomon Island are burning up with the great spirit of our TIMD students who will become the future leaders of Solomon Island and Oceania because of Tong-Il Moo-Do.
