The Kenya Open Tong-Il Moo-Do Championship of 6th November 2004 was held in Mombasa City, Coast Province. It attracted participants of different martial arts from over 10 clubs throughout the country. This was the first time for the Kenya Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation to organize a National Tournament outside Nairobi.
The Guest of Honour was Mr. Talal, The Director of Tanjal Investments and Mr.Tendai Mtanaathe, the Personal Assistant to the Minister for National Heritage, together with Master Edwin Aketch TIMD-Africa.
Participants were drawn from all over the Country.
The Tournament consisted of the competition on Sparring & Forms. At the end, there was a demonstration on (jumping fall) Rolling over 9 people.
The tournament ended with trophies and medals presentation to winners awarded by Senior Martial Arts Instructors. All the participants got a Certificate of Participation from Kenya Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation.
Master Edwin Aketch gave a closing remark with a message of calling upon all the martial artists to have a common goal of advancing both technically and also internally, in terms of becoming more responsible in the society and to utilize the skills and the knowledge acquired to overcome social vices such as HIV/AIDS and DRUG ABUSE among others.
The Tournament was organized by Clarence Mwakio Ingalwa (TIMD representative - Coast Province) and co-sponsored by Tanjal Tea (Tanjal Investments) and Kenya Tong-Il Moo-Do Federation (KTMF).
The tournament received good media coverage through National TV interview and tournament coverage, Radio announcement and Newspapers.
