This workshop was very good opportunity for the development of the relationship of Tong-Il Moo-Do and Taekwondo also with Korean War veterans. The participants' number was 75, most of them were white and Blue Belt and young participants. The workshop started on July 1 2005 by the opening ceremony of Teakwondo Academy President and Instructor Fasil and Master Yacobe. The workshop included Basic TIMD techniques: Forms, Circular movements, Self-Defense, one-Step Sparing and IEF Lecture, in other hand they taught also Taekwondo Techniques.
When I taught students they every time were very inspired by TIMD. When I gave lecture to the students I was inspired by their asking me about living for the sake of others. It was difficult for them to understand this because they never heard about it before but by the end of the workshop I could see how they changed their behavior. Also when I explained the difference between Hard and Circular techniques training it was so difficult for them to understand the circular techniques because as we know many Martial Art styles do not now how to use the circular techniques but after they learn they need to combine the soft style and hard techniques.
Before the conclusion of the workshop we gave them examination and grading. On the last day we invited African assistance continental Director and Chairman of Ethiopia TIMD Rev. Sue Eun Ryoo to close the 3 months workshop. As I heard from him he was very inspired by Taekwondo demonstration and TIMD performance by Taekwondo trainers. After the demonstrations concluded he explained them about importance of Martial Art training. At last we took group photo with him and participants.
We are also thinking to start regular TIMD training on the Korean War Veterans elementary School and prepare young people to become IEF and TIMD instructors and future leaders.
