There was orientation seminar and workshop rendered for all participating martial arts club as a policy in joining the said event. All of them has already experienced mixed martial arts tournament such as similar to that of UFC, PRIDE, and so forth. However, they testified that TIMD tournament rules was new of its kind because of the absence of strike during holding and ground techniques, Also, there should be no immediate holding rules every moment the referee signaled to start the fight but there must be a combination of strike on both side as a requirement to holding rules.
There are total of 36 competitors representing the different martial arts club. 21 competitors for the Light Weight Division, 12 for the Middle Weight, and 3 for the Heavy weight Division. All of them were already best fighters from their respective martial arts club when they enlisted themselves at the registration as per instruction during the orientation workshop-seminar. They all underwent the following procedures before the tournament such as registration, compulsory high blood pressure test, weighing to determine which division they belong and for pairing purposes. Review of the tournament rules for all the coaches representing different martial arts club as well as those staff involved in the tournament proper was done to clear things up.
TIMD UTS Asia provided the spice at the gaze of the crowed during their synchronized team demonstration. One person from the media approached us that he would help us to present the TIMD demonstration during the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) half time break. WCARP Philippines as one of the organizer for the said event, presented an excellent synchronized dance presentation . Also, the manager of the Alimall even approached me and commented the event. He was very pleased for choosing Alimall as our venue for the said event and since Alimall and Araneta Center was one of the co-presentor the said venue was free.
The winners during the 1st World Martial Arts Peace King Cup Open Tournament at Bridgeport University, Connecticut, USA presented an excellent exhibition fight. The crowed was very pleased between Robert Buminaang (middle weight world champion) and Jearson Estero (light weight world champion). They confidently used TIMD dobok during the exhibition fight and testified that TIMD philosophy had changed their lives.
The winners will be our official delegates for the coming 2nd World Martial Arts Peace King Cup Open Tournament in Japan. However, in the case of Light Weight and Middle Weight Division winners, the Broze winners will be in the reserve position because we already have 2 defending Champion for the said Division for the event. In other words, we have 9 official participants for the coming world event in Japan. Some winners are wearing TIMD uniforms because they are already adopting TIMD in their clubs after the series of educational seminars and understanding the purpose of TIMD.
Also, the above winners will still undergo IEF/TIMD educational seminars and training. We will utilized the months in getting sponsors and patron in order for us to raise funds for our roundtrip airfare and accommodations for the coming event.
TIMD UTS Asia presented an excellent TIMD demonstration before the finals of the event and it gets the attention of both the participants and the audience because of its wonderful presentation. B/Gen. Florencio F. Magsino, AFP (ret.), the chairman of MAFWP Philippines rendered the congratulatory and closing remarks. A photo session was done immediately right after the message of the general. One important effect just after the event was that all the participating martial arts club, except those who already affiliated with TIMD, also told me personally that they are interested to be affiliated with WTMF and adopt the philosophy in their clubs.
