The Workshop went on for 3 days. The objective was to unite all Martial Arts, to raise TIMD Black Belts and to revise all TIMD soft and hard techniques. The Workshop was led by International Instructors Master Aketch and Master Yacobe Assisted by Alazar and Tegegn. The participant's were 35 most of them came from Tea Kwon Do, Kung-Fu and TIMD with grade of White, Blue, Brown, and Black Belts. I really felt the internal and external strength of the participant. All the participant's were very inspired by Master Aketch' IEF Philosophy lecture and Master Yacobe' TIMD Training and I deeply explain about the important of Soft and hard technique to know deeply and to youth with the combination of breathing. We at last conclude the Workshop Friday Sept1, 2006 and all of the participants prepare them selves for the Next day Promotion test and tournament.
The next day Sept 2, 2006 Morning we had promotion test for the participant's 2 person passed for Yellow Belt, 3 for Brown Belt, 1 for Brown with Black Stripe and 3 were recommended for the 1st Degree Black Belt.
After the promotion test, afternoon we held Tournament. This included older and younger student individual form competition. The next day Sept 3, 2006 morning special techniques and children's Form Competition and we separate the winners and afternoon on Sept 3 we did closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony was attended by more than 100 guest including students parent's. The ceremony began by opening remarks by the Academy Director Mr. Mohamed. Master Aketch explain about TIMD, character Education which is giving by TIMD deeply and about Grand Master Dr. Seuk and at last Rev. Ryoo who is Chairman of TIMD Ethiopia Addresses about development of TIMD in Ethiopia and important of Martial Art Training. On the closing ceremony the Ethiopia TIMD group performed very inspired demonstration and all of the Participants were so happy. I heard from many students parent's TIMD has a spirit which can change the young generation to become leaders and citizens in future. Many of them asked me to teach them like their children. Also one parent, who works with the Africa Union which has its Hqs in Ethiopia, was very wored about the discipline in the students. He testified to the experience he has with his own children who are training. They all look up to Instructor Yacobe as role a model character. Master Aketch explained to him on the global vision of TIMD. He even promised to invite us to the Africa union Hq (formally, "Organization of Africa Unity). The director of the Academy Mr. Mohamed who is an Ambassador of Peace Consented to " Master Aketch" how impressed he was with Master Yacobe, "Such a disciplined young man, who seems to have a vision and a gleams of his destiny. "This was quite moving and a plus to TIMD Ethiopia. "Master Aketch"
We concluded our Festival and program by giving award to those who pass the grading and the Tournament contesters. Final speech's was given by Addis Ababa Martial Art Federation secretary General, Martial Arts representatives' speech. After the event we discussed how we can develop TIMD in Africa and how to raise more Black Belts by doing International Workshop to set out TIMD and good foundation in Africa. We are currently planning a Workshop in Mali & Cote D'ivore and 2007 year plan.
After the Workshop and tournament conclude in Sept 4 and 5 Master Aketch Gave the Black Belt students DP lectures. Also the Ethiopian News Agency covered the event and there was a full page article on there News paper about the TIMD Workshop and Tournament festival Closing Ceremony.
