2010 National Tong-Il Moo Do Instructors Training

May 24-29 the Tong-Il Moo do Philippines conducted the 6-days National Tong-Il Moo Do Instructors Training with the theme On “Advancing bravely forward with” at IYTC, Tanay, Rizal.

National Tong-Il Moo Do Instructor’s discipline Training has been one of the best practices of TIMD Philippines that serves as the yearly gathering of the instructors of different region in the Philippines of which the main objective is to standardized all the forms and basics of all Tong-Il Moo Do practitioners all around the country. There were 55 participants coming from different chapters all over the nation. We have 16 representatives from International Peace Leadership College, 15 representatives from Sun Hwa International Academy, 12 representatives from New Generation International School, 6 representatives from International youth training center, 2 representatives from La union, 1 representative from Bohol, 1 from Isabela, and 1 from Taguig.

“It’s very nice to see seniors especially the juniors having this kind of training…”the message of Engr. Rolando Basuil as he opened the said workshop. It was followed by the messages of Master Venus Agustin TIMD-Asia president and Master Edgar Tanate TIMD-Philippines president, emphasizing the importance of our discipline as a belt holder and as the carrier of Tong Il Moo Do philosophy. To generate the spirit of determination an intermission ballet was presented to the world.

The opening program ended with the cheers of mansei.

We group the participants into teams according to their belts and assigned a black belt staff to take in charge. With the help of this system we can monitor the trainees more easily.

Each day we started at 5 a.m. hoon dok hae followed by 4 trainings, 1 lecture and an evening activity. On each training, we standardize the Basics, Bons, and the one-step sparring. We also have Arnis Martial Arts Training Headed by sob. Reymundo cobo. As a responsible instructor to perfect the following is a must. To study the universal of Tong Il Moo Do we had lectures of Universal Values, Philosophy of Tong Il Moo Do, Pure Love and the realization of Three Main Goals in Life. As a practitioner of Tong Il Moo Do, understanding and realizing this values is a necessity.

On the last day we had the promotion test, Graduation and Belting Ceremony. The said event educates its participants not just in technical aspect but as well as their moral character, proof of this is the word of Dr. Hermie Cabinting, representative of the mayor of municipality of Rizal, Hon. Rafael A. Tanjuatco, “I have learned moral education for six years. You learn in six days what I learn in six years…”. In this sense, the training became a transformative learning not just for the participants but for all the staffs as well. This leaves nothing but inspiration to all the guest, parents and instructors of different martial arts clubs who attended the said event, and pray that this will expand not just in the Philippines but next year in the rest of the continent of asia.
