On Sunday 30th May, I performed a Tong-Il Moo-Do demonstration, with an audience of over 100 people (majority being the youth).
Announcement was made that after the youth service will be a Tong-Il Moo-Do demonstration…and everybody waited for the action.
I gave a brief introduction of Tong-Il Moo-Do as unified martial arts that comprise of:-
- Soft circular techniques
- Hard linear techniques,
- A comprehensive self-defense system
- Emphasis on character development.
I then performed
- Form of Peace (Pyung-hwa eui bon) with music
- Form of the Youth. (Sung-hwa eui bon) with music.
Then with ‘chariot of fire’ music in the background, I showed different self-defense techniques (by engaging volunteers from the audience). The techniques included:-
- Simple escapes against grabs (two hands grab…)
- Shoulder grabs
- Wrist locks,
- Multiple attacks
- Defense against knife attacks.
At the end of the demonstration I invited the people for training this week at the same venue.
